Public Health Nurse
The Town of Randolph Public Health Department and Board of Health seek a team-oriented individual for the position of Public Health Nurse. Duties include, but are not limited to: communicable disease investigation using MAVEN; planning and implementation of public vaccination clinics, (vaccine ordering, reporting and inventory management), acting as a technical resource for the public school nurses, remain aware of current trends in emerging infectious & communicable disease, contact tracing, participate in Region 5C public health emergency preparedness activities, represent Randolph in the local Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), provide communicable disease investigation & prevention services with neighboring towns, (such as Avon), as instructed by the Randolph Public Health Director.
It is expected that the Public Health Nurse will rapidly respond to emergency cases of highly contagious & infectious disease threats, (such as rabies exposure, tuberculosis and foodborne illness) that may emerge after normal business hours, holidays or on weekends. The Public Health Nurse will also collaborate with other Department staff such as the Community Health & Wellness Educator and Code Enforcement officer both for normal work and during emergencies. The Public Health Nurse reports to the Randolph Public Health Director.
Minimum requirements include: a valid license as a Registered Nurse with the Massachusetts Board of Registration, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, two years nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, certification in CPR & First Aid and valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s License. Light to moderate physical effort is required with an ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally, especially for vaccination clinics. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit speak and use hands to operate equipment. Vision requirements include the ability to read routine documents, fine print and medical instruments, use a computer and operate an automobile.
This is a Full Time 35 hours per week position with a starting salary range of $51,158 to $67,319; depending on experience and education. The Town of Randolph offers a comprehensive benefits package.
