PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE
Are you looking for a rewarding career in local government? The Town of Wellesley is seeking a
full-time (35 hours per week) public health nurse to join a talented group of individuals in the
Town’s Health Department.
Under the direction of the Director, the Public Health Nurse coordinates and assesses the Health
Department’s delivery of services to the Town. The incumbent carries out objectives and procedures
for inspection and licensure of the Town’s recreational camps, the communicable disease prevention
program, health care outreach services, clinical prevention services and is a liaison between local
service agencies, medical care providers, school health officials, and the community. The incumbent
is also responsible for limited nursing care delivery.
Requires: B.S. in Nursing; MA licensed R.N.; 2 years of nursing experience and 2 years
Community health experience or comparable training/experience in infectious disease control or
home healthcare; working knowledge of Public Health Law, the Massachusetts Sanitary Code,
and health care agencies; valid driver’s license; excellent communication, organizational and
interpersonal skills. Ability to evaluate the efficacy of preventative measures and consequences
of contagious disease, ability to interpret clinical report data. To apply, submit a cover letter and
